Kirksey special use architects designed the single-story, 42,000-sf Rigaku and USA, Inc. office/assembly building to house the production of X-ray diffraction instruments used to determine the molecular structure of crystallized proteins. The Japan-based parent company is steeped in Eastern philosophy and practices; consequently, the building's layout and its internal departments reflect Feng Shui planning principles. Western management principles overlay these fundamentals, creating an office setting that successfully blends both cultures.
