This project consists of 70,000 sf of extensive renovation to an existing building as well as 113,000 sf of new construction. The Huntsman laboratory is a research and development facility for their worldwide chemical production facilities. The chemicals, which are a byproduct of hydrocarbons, are used in a variety of products such as polymers, binders, foams, paints, caulking, soaps, adhesives and even cosmetics. This laboratory provides research on the molecular synthesis level and continues development to the "pilot" or preproduction test stage. Construction completed in the fall of 2005 at a construction cost of $27 million. |
