Kirksey Plants Trees to Honor Clients

On a beautiful Saturday morning, Kirksey employees, family and friends took part in the tradition of planting trees in honor of Kirksey’s clients. For the 29th year in a row, Kirksey planted 300 trees here locally in Houston as a way of giving back to the community in a sustainable way.   DSC00278 The tree planting for this year took place within Memorial Park to kick off the park’s ecological and habitat restoration. In addition to Kirksey employees and hundreds of volunteers, Mayor Sylvester Turner, members of City Council, Houston Parks and Recreation, Uptown Houston TIRZ and Trees for Houston were in attendance. For Kirksey, this marks more than 9,700 trees planted throughout the Houston area.   DSC00080 DSC00143 “Our commitment to sustainability and our clients is a priority for us,” said Janis Brackett, Kirksey’s Community Team Leader. “Planting these trees will help restore Memorial Park to its full beauty, and we are very happy to give back to our community in this way.” For more information, click here for the press release.
