Grand Opening of Houston Area Safety Council - Phase II

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Workforce Development & Occupational Health Center Expansion to Create Ultimate Industry Safety Solution

PASADENA, TEXAS  On Wednesday, May 20 at 3 p.m., the Houston Area Safety Council (HASC) will host a grand opening celebration at 7720 Spencer Highway for the Phase II HASC Campus Expansion, featuring a Workforce Development Center, Occupational Health Center and retail space.

HASC CAMPUS & TRAINING CENTER
Designed by Kirksey Architecture and completed by Tellepsen Builders, the HASC campus features a vast 38 acres of property conveniently located in Pasadena, Texas to better serve the membership and petrochemical industry. The expansive HASC headquarters includes an existing Training Center, new Workforce Development Center, new Occupational Health Center and retail space. At the request of membership to create a true, one-stop-shop for pre-employment requirements and work-related medical services, HASC has expanded its services to include a full-scale occupational clinic and workforce development solution to focus on industry-related, task-based training solutions.

NEW WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT CENTER
To better accommodate the ever-growing need for skilled labor, HASC created a workforce development training solution that focuses on specific tasks and safety components, including: power and hand tool use, welding, electrical, chemical cleaning, rigging and more. The 17,000 square foot Workforce Development Center is located adjacent to the existing Training Center. This training facility was specifically designed with a high bay workspace, overhead crane, separate welding room, viewing area and classrooms.

NEW OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH CENTER
The LEED Certified Occupational Health Center is a 17,000 square foot clinic dedicated strictly to occupational medicine. The Occupational Health Center features a private entrance and lobby for injury care, a safety representative lounge and expanded assessment and treatment rooms. The clinic boasts nine physical exam rooms, eight drug screen collection areas, and a functional capacity suite, in addition to larger respirator fit testing and audiogram spaces. The Houston Area Safety Council’s Occupational Health Services Chief Medical Officer is board certified in occupational medicine.
