FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Grand Opening Celebration to be Held
PASADENA, TEXAS — On Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 3 p.m., the Houston Area Safety Council (HASC) will host a Grand Opening Celebration for a new expansive training campus. Located at the corner of Center Street and Spencer Highway at 5213 Center Street in Pasadena, Texas, near the Houston Ship Channel, the new LEED Certified campus represents a two year initiative to expand safety training capabilities to meet the growing needs of the petrochemical, space and food industries in the Houston area and beyond.
Designed by Kirksey Architecture and completed by Tellepsen Builders, the new state-of-the-art campus features 65,000 square feet of comfortable training space situated on 34 acres of land, with room to grow. To better serve the membership, the new campus includes a 220-seat auditorium with stadium seating, meeting spaces, computer labs with 650 workstations, multiple classrooms, distinct study areas and parking for over 1,000 vehicles.
Synonymous with progress and innovation, the Houston Area Safety Council will continue to provide a variety of services including hands-on and computer-based training for general safety, personal development, company- and site-specific orientations, assessments, occupational health services, and more.
As training units are projected to reach over 700,000 for 2013, the Houston Area Safety Council currently trains approximately 1,600 people each day on average. With the investment in the future of safety training through the expansion of the new campus, HASC continues to develop the mission as an innovative leader of building safe workplaces by improving the quality and integrity of the work force.
