Julie Hendricks Receives AIA Ben Brewer Young Architect Award


Kirksey EcoServices Team Leader Receives Prestigious Honor

HOUSTON, TEXAS — Kirksey is pleased to announce that Julie Hendricks has been awarded the 2012 Ben Brewer Young Architect Award. Julie is Kirksey’s EcoServices team leader and is passionate about sustainable architecture.

Julie has made 5.7 million square feet of project more sustainable, saved 2.6 million MBTUs energy annually through advocacy efforts, organized 6 green conferences, spoken at over 60 speaking engagements and taught 100 students in architectural studio. She is committed to the research and implementation of sustainable practices and places a high priority on educating the community on how to create a more sustainable world.

Julie states that “until all buildings generate more energy than they consume, have zero impact on harvested resources, and leave the soil, air and waterways cleaner than they were before they were built, I look forward to talking about sustainability.”
