Kirksey Welcomes Necia E. Bonner to Healthcare Team
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Necia Bonner, RID, IIDA, LEED AP, Joins Kirksey
– Necia E. Bonner, RID, IIDA, LEED AP, joined Kirksey Architecture as a Senior Associate and Director of Healthcare Interiors on July 6. Bonner brings more than 17 years of experience in healthcare interior design and expertise. Previously an associate at Inventure Design and WHR Architects, Bonner has experience with complex healthcare projects for clients such as Memorial Hermann, MD Anderson and Methodist. Her focus at Kirksey will consist of healthcare interior design, as well as business development. Bonner’s wealth of knowledge and skills is an asset for complex medical environments, medical office buildings and clinic design. Bonner understands the balance between the multi-faceted requirements of the clinical spaces with the specialized attention that each individual patient environment requires.
Kirksey strongly believes in recruiting diverse, talented and creative individuals who will bring more experience, culture and a healthy passion for great design and architecture to the growing firm, and is very pleased to have Bonner join the firm.
“We are very excited to have Necia join our growing practice as she will bring energy and exceptional insight to the ever-changing field of healthcare design, which we are all so passionate about,” said David McLemore, Healthcare Team Leader and Executive Vice President at Kirksey. “Working alongside her will only add to our knowledge base and allow us to better serve the clients we enjoying partnering with each and every day for the creation of better patient care environments.”
Previously serving for four years as the International Interior Design Association’s (IIDA) Programs Chair for the Houston City Center (HCC), Bonner is currently serving her second term as the IIDA HCC Advocacy Chair. Bonner has been deeply involved in the IIDA community giving her time to these volunteer positions as well as co-chairing the annual IIDA Leaders Breakfast event for two years in a row when the event was first introduced to the Houston market. She also volunteers on the planning committee for the annual Texas Association of Interior Designers (TAID) Lot 75 Fundraiser Art event.
“Healthcare spaces are something that everyone uses. I enjoy planning those spaces to reflect an efficient clinical design for the staff as well as a comfortable and low-stress experience for the patients,” said Bonner. “I look forward to joining the team and the opportunities that we will have to strengthen and expand the strong portfolio of healthcare work that Kirksey has established.”
Bonner has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston in Interior Design with a minor in Architecture.
