The JSCC of Baylor College of Medicine is a six story, 158,000 SF building located adjacent to the Texas Medical Center. It orients itself towards the future Baylor clinic and academic building. The Kirksey Team worked with the landscape architect to visually connect the building to the Baylor campus and a rich landscape space was developed between the two. The building includes outpatient clinical services, an outpatient surgical center, research facilities, and academic and administrative spaces with retail and a cafe on the first floor. Successfully balancing energy efficiency, sophisticated client requirements, and ample daylight and visual connections to the exterior, this project was designed and constructed in 14 months - on time and within budget.
