Kirksey was selected to design the 79,000-sf Science Complex for Brazosport College. The project includes classrooms, administration offices, teaching laboratories, a simulation area in the health professions department and various related health professions continuing education and certificate programs. Brazosport's commitment to the local industry was woven into the design of this Science Complex by way of instrumentation labs to aid in the training and certification of local area workers.

The aesthetic of this building was carefully designed to reflect and parallel the Dow Academic Center—another Kirksey-designed building—to weave the building design together in look for a cohesive campus feel. For better and more efficient pedestrian access, the buildings' placement was carefully considered to establish anchors between the north and south end of the campus.
