The Ertan Digestive Disease Center at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School provides comprehensive medical and surgical treatment for patients with diseases of the esophagus, stomach, intestine, pancreas, biliary tract and liver.

Located within the MHHS Medical Plaza, also designed by Kirksey, the EDDC is a full floor clinic and licensed Ambulatory Surgical Center with multiple Endoscopy suites and an image guided operating room. Kirksey worked with the client team and state officials to provide for a unique, shared waiting and check-in area for both the clinic and the surgical center, which is fully compliant with licensing regulations and also helps provide for a singular, cohesive patient check-in experience. This design solution provides for more efficient staff utilization, and a more customer oriented experience.

The ASC and clinic have sterilization facilities, pre- and post-operative semi-private beds, and amazing views of Hermann Park for patients and staff to enjoy.
