Queensbury Theatre, formerly Country Playhouse, is a non-profit community theater that has been providing quality performances to the Houston community since 1956. The new space features a 250-seat theater with a proscenium stage and a blackbox theater. Designed with the concept of a “theater-within-a-theater,” the exterior glass wall allows passersby to experience events happening inside, while the upstairs walkway is a nod to a theater catwalk. Opened in the fall of 2015, the theater has supported a full season of cast and characters, as well as national, live televised events.

One of the architectural highlights is the “Cyc Wall,” short for “cyclorama” which enables the theater to project images on the red wall, which can change colors based on the theater’s promotions, performances and fundraising needs. The theater also features a large rehearsal room, one conference room, two offices, VIP area, and a lobby with ticketing, concession, and restroom access.
