Kirksey was selected to design a new 42,000-sf dining hall to replace one constructed in 1928. Located adjacent to the existing student center, this building creates a new heart for the campus. This modern facility provides dining for more than 700 students in an environment in line with today's restaurants and entertainment centers. The dining facility includes an extended hour café/coffee shop, private dining halls seating 100 and 50, executive dining room, convenience store and required kitchen, concept and storage areas.

Spearheading collegiate projects, Steve’s experience spans everything from dining halls and academic buildings to athletic facilities and religious institutions. Early in his 17-year career at Kirksey, Steve initiated the Outreach Committee which offers opportunities for staff members to volunteer their time for various local communities and non-profit organizations. He also leads the firm’s membership in The 1%, a program connecting non-profits to architecture firms willing to provide pro bono services.
