Project Features
  • 700-car garage, expandable to 2100-cars
  • Mixed-use building with conference and fitness centers, offices, classrooms
  • Parking Count & Guidance System to monitor parking
The UTMB League City parking garage provides 700 spaces, capable of expanding to a 2,100-car garage to support the expansion of the UTMB League City Campus. The project includes a mixed-use building component with vertical circulation, referred to as Building B, that ties into the parking garage and a pedestrian bridge. The parking garage contributes to patient satisfaction through safety, ease of use, and clear wayfinding. Building B includes a conference center, fitness center, office, classroom, coffee shop, bookstore, and storage building.

The parking garage has a mix of staff, patient/visitor, and valet parking; therefore, a robust and flexible parking access revenue and control system were designed. An easily understood wayfinding system outside the garage helps point disabled drivers to the principal entrance(s) available for their use. At a minimum, most hospital garages must be designed to handle the massive influx of first-time users. As such, this garage is designed to be as simple as possible and easy to understand from both a driver's and pedestrian's point of view.
