John Kirksey awarded TxA's 2022 Medal for Lifetime Achievement

The Texas Society of Architects has awarded firm founder, John Kirksey, with its 2022 Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Honor of Llewellyn W. Pitts FAIA.

The Medal for Lifetime Achievement is awarded to a single member each year in recognition of a lifetime of distinguished leadership and dedication to architecture, the profession, and the community. The medal is the Texas Society of Architects’ highest honor. It is awarded in memory of Llewellyn W. Pitts, FAIA, to publicly recognize architects who by their example and service have made significant contributions to the advancement of the profession and to the community.

Kirksey's President, Wes Good, commented on his firm's founder: "John is a visionary. He has big, creative ideas with the persuasive charm, charisma, and skill in leadership to show others his vision and the enormous persistence and courage to make things happen. From establishing and growing his own architecture firm, to spearheading bold initiatives to improve the quality of life and the environment in the Texas Gulf Coast region and beyond, John’s forward thinking nature and service has fueled incredible achievements."

John will be recognized in front of his industry peers at the upcoming 83rd Annual TxA Conference and Design Expo, happening in El Paso on October 27-29th.
