Strategic Hires - Kirksey Austin
Kirksey Architecture is excited to announce two key hires in Austin: Sheri Coibion and Laia Gimeno.
Sheri is a Senior Associate with over 15 years of design and construction experience, including over a decade with a national commercial and multifamily developer. Sheri brings a robust design and project management background to her work, plus an understanding of what clients need to make a project successful.
“I worked with Sheri years ago and was always impressed with her,” says Kathleen Jircik, Executive Vice President. “She will help us manage some of the complicated projects we have now and further our connections in Austin.”
Additionally, Laia Gimeno joins the Austin team as a key member of the design department, focusing on building energy modeling. Sustainability is a core value for Kirksey Architecture, and Laia’s focus will be modeling a building’s energy use which is extremely valuable for new construction and complex renovations. Understanding the energy impact helps make critical design and programming choices clear.
“Energy efficiency and building modeling are incredibly important in the early design phase,” says David Dalton, Kirksey Architecture Executive Vice President. “We saw its tremendous value on the work we did at Credit Human, which achieved significant sustainability goals. Modeling our projects helps the project team and owners make informed decisions.”
Kirksey Architecture has provided design services across Texas and the world for over 50 years, and the Austin office bolsters the firm’s commitment to the growing Central Texas market. Key local projects include Texas Facilities Commission Capitol Complex Phase 1, Austin ISD, Credit Human in San Antonio, and The University of Texas Graduate Student Housing Complex.
