Kirksey provided programming, planning, and design services for this 18,000 sf, interior build-out on the 6th floor of the BCM Medical Building, also designed by Kirksey, in Houston, Texas. It consists of an outpatient therapy and treatment clinic, group therapy rooms, research space, and academic offices. The project goals included incorporating the needs of the three separate and unique clinical tracts within the suite while allowing for and fostering growth of the medical students and communication between the various specialty areas practiced by the doctors within their departments. Patient privacy and staff safety was also a key concern, and thus had to be married with the need to allow open communication between clinical staff and students.
