Kirksey was selected to design a new 400-bed residence hall and 1,000-car parking garage. In addition to the residential living units, residential amenities include 8 community lounges, 16 study rooms, a 3,000-sf central lounge, community kitchen and laundry facilities. Unique to this freshman focused complex is the “Freshman Success Center”, a 4,500-sf student learning center, equipped with classrooms, computer lab, tutoring space and group study areas. The 125,000-sf facility is supported by a 1000-car garage, with integral police station.

Spearheading collegiate projects, Steve's experience spans everything from dining halls and academic buildings to athletic facilities and religious institutions. Early in his 21-year career at Kirksey, Steve initiated the Outreach Committee which offers opportunities for staff members to volunteer their time for various local communities and non-profit organizations. He also leads the firm's membership in The 1%, a program connecting non-profits to architecture firms willing to provide pro bono services.
