The 2016 Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) Capitol Complex Master Plan reimagines the Capitol Complex as a destination that celebrates the Capitol and centralizes all state agencies. Kirksey was selected as the Architect of Record for the 1601 Congress Avenue Building and the Underground Parking Garage and Pedestrian Mall as part of Phase One of this development.
 
1601 Congress Avenue is a 416,000-sf, 12-story building that includes office space for State agencies, conferencing facilities, a cafe/restaurant, and other amenities as well as a 12,000-sf early childhood facility that incorporates indoor and outdoor learning. Kirksey is providing architect of record, interior architecture, sustainability/LEED consulting, and branding/graphics services for this project.
 
Page/ is the Master Architect for the TFC Capitol Complex and Balfour Beatty is the Construction Manager Agent.
