The teen-specific facility is the first Boys & Girls Teen Club in Houston and the first in the nation to be supported by an NFL team. The 3,200 sf facility is the first space of its kind in Houston exclusively for youth ages 14 to 17. Members of the Teen Club are provided with the programming and facilities necessary to help them transition to adulthood.
The Teen Club is also next door to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston’s flagship club, the John & Cissy Havard Club. A unique feature of the Club is their partnership with the Houston Food Bank, allowing teens the opportunity to distribute food to members of the surrounding community that are in need.
Every day after school, teens at the Houston Texans Teen Club may be found doing yoga in the wellness center, catching up on homework in the reading room, preparing a healthy snack in the kitchen, playing pool in the game room, or in the food pantry sorting food for distribution.
The space includes a college and career center, cafe, wellness center, counseling office, Carnival’s Endzone (game room) that was done in collaboration with partner Carnival Cruise Line, and a mural by Houston native, renowned artist, Jimmy Houston on the side of the building.
