The Club at the Houstonian was opened in 1980.  It is a 160,000-sf building that was built to be converted to an office building if the exclusive fitness club concept did not take off.  It has taken off and now has over 5,500 members. Kirksey has been providing services for the Club for over 10 years. In 2000, we were retained to develop a master plan for the entire campus.  In 2002, we renovated the associated members’ locker rooms, child care area, group A, B and C studios and relocated the accounting department. In 2005, we began renovating the resident locker rooms, resident work out area, boxing studio, created a new spinning studio and added a new 498-car underground parking garage with 6 outdoor tennis courts and 4 indoor tennis courts and a new campus laundry (all connected to the existing club).
