NRG Energy's new headquarters is located in the Houston Pavilions mixed-use complex in downtown Houston. Occupying 11 floors, this 262,000-sf project was designed to increase collaboration among co-workers, ease the organizational transition for the company as a whole, and to successfully integrate office and retail functions. Vibrant colors and graphics dynamically and playfully integrate the high-tech, functional office component with the bustling, energetic retail space occupying portions of the first three floors.

At the forefront of office planning trends, the new facility contains no private offices and uses a single standard for all workspaces. Employees sit at identical benching-type workstations, but have ample access to conference and multi-use spaces, conference rooms for private use, universal technology/connectivity, and a cafeteria. This abundance of collaborative space encourages teaming and the free exchange of ideas and information among co-workers.
