The Reliant Rehabilitation Hospital provides for short- and long-term rehabilitation services at a single location. In addition to fifty private patient rooms, the hospital houses facilities for physical therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy, and assisted daily living. The facility provides 24-hour care and supported by in-house nursing, dietary, administrative, dining and recreational areas for a comfortable extended stay. The client’s program called for an extremely tight construction schedule and a construction cost that had to be set during design development. This required Kirksey and the consultant team to constantly work with the owner’s construction manager for updated pricing and modification of the scope of work, to assure that the facility would come on line within budget. Kirksey and the MEP engineer worked with the sub-contracting team as well, to ascertain valuable cost savings measures that were viable for the project.
