In association with design architects Machado and Silvetti Associates, Inc., Kirksey served as project architect for the New Wiess College. The first new dormitory in 25 years involved a complicated planning effort including the design of a new 230-bed residence hall and dining facility to replace the existing Wiess College, a new 13,000-sf dining hall for Hanson College, and a new 15,000-sf kitchen and servery that accommodates both colleges. In addition, this 163,500-sf facility includes study lounges, classrooms, a computer center, a recreation center, and all necessary support space.
